Rotordynamic Open Source Software (ROSS)
ROSS is a Python library for rotor dynamic analysis, enabling the construction of rotor models and their numerical simulation. Shaft elements are modeled using Timoshenko beam theory, which considers the effects of shear and rotational inertia, and are discretized using the Finite Element Method. It was created in a partnership between UFRJ and Petrobras. It continues to be developed today in a UFU-Petrobras-UFRJ partnership.
